When the wedding invitations were sent out a piece of fabric was enclosed. I asked everyone to decorate a square.

This is my square.

I've been working on this off and on for the past few years. I originally thought it was going to be much smaller and I could carry it around to events to work on. It's been to Fencing Nationals in Ohio, spent a week with me in Texas....but it was too much to carry around and I was afraid it was going to get ruined.

Some of the squares needed to be reworked and some I embroidered, embellished and beaded. I wanted to do so much more, but the squares speak for themselves and really don't need anything else!
Robert and Ellen loved it and I'm glad it's finally home.
WHAT a great idea! I had spent quite a while cutting out bits of fabric to make a quilt before I got married and then ... one of my sisters found out and offered to put it together for me. I had laughed and told her she had until my 10th anniversary to finish it. SHe now has just over a year and a half to go to make the "deadline."
ReplyDeleteLOL!
I like your idea better. Wish I'd known about that before. :-)
